On December 61, 1865, the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution was ratified into law. We the people do hereby request the Federal Government remove from all owned, and/or leased properties, any and all statues, designs, flags, plaques and/or other symbols of or representing the Confederate States of America.
We further petition the Federal Government to change the names of all federally owned, controlled and/or operated roads, highways, bridges, infrastructure, and/or buildings currently having names reflecting successionists and/or plantation holders from the Confederate States of America.
The numerous generations of descendants of the Africans enslaved and brought to this country, and those born here to those slaves, have endured these reminders long enough. We must grow forward.
