We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Rename "Columbus day" to "Exploration Day"

Created by C.G. on October 11, 2016

Columbus Day is a day which celebrates a singular man, namely Christopher Columbus. It is well known that Columbus engaged in many atrocious, including: Genocide, Rape, Murder, etc... Many people now would like to see the holiday renamed due to the immorality of celebrating such a person.

Renaming the holiday "Exploration Day" which better reflect the values which we, as a nation and a people, truly wish to celebrate. Exploration day could be a celebration of all of man kinds great explorations. It could celebrate the moon landing, Lewis and Clark's expedition, Magellan's trip around the world, Amerigo Vespucci's mapping of South America, Marco Pollo's expedition, and much more.

The drive to explore is one of man kinds greatest and longest lasting traits, & deserves to be celebrated.
