To show those of true American ancestry that we acknowledge the atrocities committed by Christopher Columbus to their great ancestors and, to re-educate the youth of America of this portion of our history. Thereby instilling in them that it is morally proper to accept and admit the wrong. Also, to attempt to teach the children of the U.S.A that if we can learn from our mistakes that we just may be able to create a better world and prevent further atrocities upon other peoples of our world. Last and certainly not least, to acknowledge the the services that the American Natives have provided to this country and to formally request their forgiveness for our lack of respect.
