rename the National Guard to the National Militia.

Created by J.C. on December 17, 2012

Whereas; a constant argument against gun control is the Second Amendment,
Whereas; the Second Amendment states "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.",
Whereas; the National Guard of the United States is a reserve military force composed of volunteer National Guard militia members or units of each state, territory, and the District of Columbia,
Therefore; the National Guard, aside from the Armed Forces, should be the only entity possessing assault weapons and changing the name to the National Militia would allow for courts to literally translate the Second Amendment to restrict gun ownership to the Militia.
