Rename the "No Child Left Behind Act" to the "One Size Fits All Education Act"

As a student in one of the nation's largest school systems, I can personally testify to the effects that NCLB has had on education in America. Instead of accomplishing its goal of holding school systems accountable for students' educations and rewarding the systems that do, it has created a system of egregiously numerous examinations. The increased amount of standardized testing in the U.S. has resulted in a "one-size-fits-all" educational view that does not take into account the individual needs of students. The potential of students who are proficient in their classes is constantly restricted by the newfound "need" to make sure that each student can perform on a level that is actually remarkably low. As such, we believe that the NCLB Act should be renamed to reflect its true effects.
