In the 2016 election cycle, it has been brought to our attention that the GOP has gone way off the rails. In a representative democracy, such as our own - we MUST make sure that our political party labels accurately represent themselves, in order to ensure that we the people can make good decisions in party affiliation.
Given recent events, with the unfortunate passing of justice Scalia, The Constitutionally Convenient Clown Car Party of PseudoFreedom is genuinely trying to mislead the public (who have access to the "google machine" on their "smartphone computer device" and can look up their fallacies) by saying that it is not a president's responsibility to nominate a new supreme court justice during an election year, when in fact it is not the case.
