For the longest time the Secretary of Defense was named the Secretary of War. With Donald Trump being elected, and General Mathis (Ret.) Being put forth as the Secretary of Defense. Its only fitting that the man who has lead the US military in key situations and is a Brilliant leader should help conduct the nation's wars, as the Secretary of War.
