Rename the USS Gabriel Gifford to the USS Ronald L. Coker (MOH).

Created by P.K. on March 25, 2015

I firmly believe that this Navy vessel deserves to be named the USS Ronald L. Coker. I believe this because he courageously and selflessly gave his life in Vietnam while combating a platoon of Vietnamese soldiers. He was attempting to rescue a wounded squad member and a grenade thrown by a Vietnamese soldier landed on the wounded comrade, Ronald courageously grabbed the grenade and turned from his friend and the grenade exploded before he could dispose of it. Ronald still kept going and 2 more grenades went off by Ronald and his injured squad member. Ronald crawled with his injured comrade to friendly territory. Once he made it to the friendly territory, Ronald had succumbed to his injuries. He deserves this more than a politician, the ship should be named after a Medal of Honor recipient.
