We request that the Space Shuttle Program be re-instituted, and that NASA is fully funded. Space exploration is not only vital to National Security, but is also a part of American Life, as well as Science and Knowledge. Ending the Space Shuttle Program is in contrast with the will of the American People, and academia not only in the U.S., but worldwide.
We have a rich history of Space Exploration, which must continue.
Here is part of the history of our first trip to the Moon:
On July 20, 1969 at 4:18 pm, the Lunar Module touched down on the Moon at Tranquility Base. Armstrong reported "The Eagle Has Landed", and at 10:56 pm, Armstrong, descending from Eagle's ladder and touching one foot to the Moon's surface, announced:
"That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."
