This is a petition to get the President involved in the plight of the public school system. He and Mrs Obama are from Chicago, so this issue should be near and dear to their hearts. The children of Chicago need a public activist on the scale of a Martin Luther King. You Mr. President are the closest to that lofty position. You you beat the cultural status quo when you ran for President ( TWICE ), and won both times. You can exceed yourself by reaching back to your community organizer suit, and doing what you know is right for the kids of Chicago. Friends is friends Mr. President but friends can be wrong. And a true friend would point that out to a friend. You have hundreds of thousands of friends in Chicago hoping and praying for you. Please don't let their prayers fall on death ears.
