Reopen the Compassionate Investigational New Drug Program and include medical marijuana in this program.

Request that the federal government reopen the Compassionate Investigational New Drug Program. This program was opened in 1978 by the federal government which at that time knew the benefits of medical marijuana and approved it for use. It was used by and improved the lives of the first 13 approved for the program until G. W. Bush closed the program down after an influx of AIDS patients requested the medicine. This program needs to be reopened to assist those whose lives would be improved by the use of medical marijuana. The government already knows it works as it has people grandfathered on it now. This program would be a major benefit to our Vets who suffer from PTSD and many others who suffer from debilitating pain for which the current prescribed meds reduce them to comatose individuals
