The reopening of an investigation into the 2001 anthrax attacks is warranted because unanswered questions remain. These questions include, but are not limited to: where were the anthrax spores grown, what was process that was used to produce the spores, and a definitive explanation for the presence of silica and tin.
Furthermore, a new investigation would be able to address concerns regarding the point of origin of the anthrax. These concerns stem from the National Academy of Sciences review of the scientific evidence that form the basis of the FBI and U.S. Department of Justice' conclusions.
