Reopen the Old Slave House in Equality Illinois as a historic site for public viewing

Created by T.L. on January 24, 2016

The Old Slave House in Equality, Illinois is an amazing historic landmark filled with both beauty and horrors beyond compare. This site was once a great museum that the public was allowed to enter and see the historic possessions and holding cells for slaves, However this changed in 1996 when the state bought the house and closed the museum. They stated they were buying the house to return it to its original glory. However twenty years later I have yet to see anything being done about this. This house is a legend throughout the state and would attract tourists from all over. This home is not being taken care of and if someone doesn't begin to maintain it soon it won't be standing much longer. Open it now! Friends of the Old Slave House!
