As the White house is a property owned by the American public, closing it of to american families should not be allowed to happen. Millions visit the White house for it's historical and political meaning and value each year, and issuing a statement that the tours will be discontinued instead of offering a meaningful cut to the trillions of dollars wasted annually by the white house's short term resident (aka the President) is simply a smack in the face to the American public.
The White hours belongs to the American People, not to the President. reopen the tours immediately, cuts can be made elsewhere in the overinflated budget.
