The 16th and 17th Amendments have allowed a seemingly endless supply of funding to the Government and silenced the States voice at the table of Government by having the Senators elected by popular vote, not by the State Legislatures as required by the Constitution.
The Federal Government was not meant to have the ability to tax the people directly and the States voice was guaranteed with the power to select their Senators.
Since their ratification of these Amendments the Government now benefits from a loose interpretation of our founding documents. Repealing these Amendments would return Senators to their proper function and position and put the control of governmental funding back into the States control where it was meant to be.
