The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote. Since the ratifying of the constitution in the beginning of the 19th century we have turned into a pure democracy, and we were created to be a constitutional republic.
