Shame on you Goodwill Industries for paying a disabled workers .22 cents an hour while your executives make up to 1.1 million.
In 1938 during the Great Depression a provision of the law passed allows employers to pay LESS than the required minimum wage with NO minimum to disabled workers based on their "abilities".
While the FLSA clearly states "The fact that a worker has a disability in and of itself does not justify the payment of a special minimum wage.", Companies are using this provision to justify paying disabled workers considerable less for their work, while making a fortune in profits.
Providing the disabled employment is important but equally important is fundamentally valuing their contribution and paying less than the original 1938 wage of .25 cents in 2011 is egregious
