Repeal the 1986 Hughes Amendment Machine Gun Ban

Created by B.Y. on April 24, 2014

The Hughes Machine Gun Ban in 1986 was unconstitutional and illegal to the utmost extent. Roberts Rules of Order were ignored, the Congressional Record was selectively "erased", and the electronic votes were not truthfully represented. Mr. William Hughes tried multiple times to avoid having his amendment read aloud for the consideration of all present. However, once reading of the amendment had finally begun, it wasn't finished before they took the vote on it, because less than a minute remained in the session. The vote was taken Charlie Rangel (Chairman) said the AYES appear to have it. However, an electronic vote was taken, and the votes to pass it were as follows: AYES - 124, NOES - 298, with 12 members not voting. Let us not suffer such disrespect of the Constitution and the law!
