Repeal the 2nd Amendment

The second amendment was created for citizens to defend themselves against their own government. Those days are long over. Weapons are much more deadly and sophisticated now. we have weapons that can mow down dozens of innocent school children in a matter of minutes. None of these recent horrors in the news have nothing to do with defending against government abuses. To carry the second amendment to it's logical extreme, each american should be able to own their own nuclear weapon. Arming oneself should be a privilege, not a right, and all those owning one should go through gun safety classes and have their license renewed every 4 years, similar to driving a car. And only guns appropriate for hunting and self-protection should be legal. Criminalize all military style weapons.
