The second amendment was written over 200 years ago during a different era. It has no place in a modern, pluralistic society of over 300 million people that has seen massive changes in technology and too many innocent lives lost.
Hunters and gun enthusiasts do not need a constitutional amendment to protect their pursuits any more than those who enjoy baseball or needlepoint.
The cost to live with this antiquated law is too high.
