It's an Archaic principle written hundreds of years ago while we were a 'Frontier Society/Democracy', still under the threat the "British" could return & potential conflicts with Native American tribes at the time. Nor could the high tech weapons/guns of today been envisioned by our forefathers.
Approximately 34 Americans die every day from gun related homicide. That's a Virginia Tech massacre every day! The NRA has shown heartlessness & no logic in the face of continued tragedies of the American people. ALL other developed nations range from 2-45 gun related deaths on average per year. America is at 12k-13k per year!!
We have to stop the 'gun culture' here being fueled by the 2nd Amendment. We have to save lives now... Especially our young innocent children.
