Repeal the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution

Recognize that the Constitution is a living document, and, as such, making revisions to it is not only justified, is a requirement. The 2nd Amendment was conceived at a particular time in the Country’s history, and with a particular kind of “arms” in mind. Neither the current stability of the Country and competence of its military or the deadly power of today’s armament were even imaginable at the time the 2nd Amendment was put in place. It is no longer required, obsolete. Further, under the false pretense of supporting citizen’s rights, the gun lobbies are draining people’s pockets and inundating our streets with ever more powerful armament, clearly not intended for self-defense or for supplementing the country’s military.
