Millions of Americans have already seen the cost of their health insurance double or triple in the form of rate increases from insurance carriers in anticipation of the full implementation of the Affordable Care Act. For many, the cost increases are substantial enough that they are no longer able to afford coverage at all either privately or through their employer.
Hundreds of companies have laid off or announced layoffs of tens of thousands of US workers in the days since the election of 2012, many of whom citing the direct costs of the Affordable Care Act as the principle reason to downsize their workforce.
In short, as a direct result of the Affordable Care Act, health care costs are skyrocketing, and the damage to private enterprise by this law will be devastating.
