Several states have laws that, in cases where rape results in pregnancy, allow the rapist joint custody of the child. This is appalling, because:
1. No woman should be tethered to her rapist for the rest of her life.
2. Nobody who would rape someone is fit to raise a child.
Let's work to get these laws changed. They don't benefit the child in this case, so there's really no reason to cause such a trauma for the mother.
