We must all(We the People) join together into a dialogue which shall reaffirm and result in further protecting the Second Amendment and thus all others from unscrupulous "misinterpretation" deliberate or accidental. We must apply not only our modern thinking, but an understanding of the way of thinking when these documents were forged to reach a true interpretation, not the twisted one we have now.
"A well regulated militia( read : Equipped, Trained/Ordered, and Functioning body of armed citizens) being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
Ben Franklin said it best, back in 1759...
"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
