It is currently illegal in the United States to walk, bike or otherwise travel on highways and most main roads (unless in a motor vehicle). With the economy where it is today, more and more people are FORCED to give up their vehicles, due to the rising costs of gas, insurance, registration/plate fees, and repairs. Also, with the rising worries about energy, fuel and the environment, more and more people are choosing to give up their cars.
ALL laws making walking or biking illegal should either be repealed in EVERY city, OR public transportation should be mandatory in EVERY city across the country!
The point of this petition is to give people back the right to walk to where they need to go, regardless of what road they take!
