Today taxpayers pay approximately $52 million a year in subsidies to Oil Co. alone. Subsidy programs were originally created to financially help new industries which have a demand for product necessary for Public interest and were not able to meet this demand without assistance..
An example would be the new demand for Oil when Henry Ford first mass produced the automobile which created a sudden demand for fuel that did not exist before.
Today the fossil fuel industry has long past the days of the need for assistance yet Congress insists on continued and increased subsidies. This is an unnecessary burden on the American taxpayer for no purpose.
PLEASE REPEAL AL SUBSIDY PROGRAMS FOR FOSSIL FUEL.
