In order to seriously address the budget deficit on the revenue side, we petition for the repeal of all oil and gas subsidies to oil companies with revenues greater than $50 million a year. These subsidies were originally granted when the risks associated with oil drilling were greater and required incentive. This is no longer the case and costs the U.S. taxpayers $775 billion annually, while Big Oil has record profits.
