This petition demands that all BLATANTLY UNCONSTITUTIONAL provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act, signed by President Barack Obama on December 31, 2011.
It is nearly impossible to find an American citizen who is not enraged and/or terrified by some of the provisions in this act, if they are even aware of it.
Amid public outcry, The National Defense Authorization Act was signed into law, codifying indefinite military detention without charge or trial for the first time in American history. The NDAA’s detention provisions would authorize the president — and all future presidents — to order the military to pick up and indefinitely imprison people captured anywhere in the world, INCLUDING AMERICAN CITIZENS. Does this sound like something the Founding Fathers would permit?
