Repeal and replace the Second Amendment with a limited right to bear arms.

Created by M.R. on December 15, 2012

Current gun control legislation is almost always struck down on constitutional grounds because of the Second Amendment. To enable stricter gun control laws, the Second Amendment will be repealed. It will be replaced with new, limited right to bear arms.

This new amendment will guarantee the right to bear arms for hunting and personal defense. It will also explicitly grant Congress and the States the power to restrict the types and numbers of weapons a person may own. The new amendment will also require Congress to create a national registry of all firearms and weapons and to create a federal system for gun licensure.

To long have we lived with the ramifications of a colonial mentality. It's time remake the Second Amendment for the 21st century.
