Petition to reinforce the American Citizen's right to choose. No government on any level should be required to pay armed guards. No public servant should be required to make himself the primary target of a lunatic with a gun by advertising with his uniform that he is the only armed protector in the vicinity. No responsible, law-abiding adult should be forced to watch innocent men, women, and children murdered simply because laws prohibit them from preparing themselves to stop the perpetrators. The only deterent to a lunatic with a gun is a sane person with a gun. Every mass shooting in the US since 1950 was perpetrated in a gun free zone... a place where the perpatrator knew that there would be a time window before law-enforcement arrived where he would be the ony armed person in the area.
