repeal any marriage penalties in SSI and Social Security.

Created by B.D. on November 22, 2012

The Social Supplemental Income unit of Social Security has marriage penalties cutting these people down to trying to survive on less that what a single person receives. This has also stopped people who have wanted to get married but won't because they are both disabled. My wife and I are that type of couple, she receives $82.30 a month and I receive $137.00. I also receive $840.00 in SSD for a total of $1,059.30 to last the month and pay bills and buy food.
