The bankruptcy law was put into place to allow citizens a fresh start by correcting mistakes they made while navigating the free market. Since 1976 the lenders of our education system have been given excessive privileges that allow them to be increasingly irresponsible in their lending practices. Meanwhile the citizens are not able to recover from their mistake and not able to contribute to the rest of the local and global economy for several decades. Currently if any citizen wants a small chance at getting their loans forgiven after 5 years they have to be dead, dying or maimed.
Repeal all amendments from 1976, replace with an amendment that states if the debtor bankrupts student loans, they can not file for bankruptcy again for 15 years and are barred acquiring student loans again.
