This petition seeks to overturn the ATF's opinion letter on the popular SIG brace for AR style pistols for three main reasons.
The first is that placing the SIG brace on your shoulder does not redesign it or change the classification of your weapon.
The second reason is that the ATF's decision on the issue is completely political backlash, and does not seek in any way, shape, or form to prevent gun violence.
The third reason is that the new ruling is nearly impossible to enforce and is dangerous. A local law enforcement officer may see someone firing their AR style pistol from the cheek from afar and may arrest them because they believed the shooter was firing from their shoulder.
