Repeal the Christmas Tree Tax

Created by K.W. on November 09, 2011

A tax on Christmas trees is unnecessary.

On 8 November 2011 the Obama Administration and the Agricultural Department announced that it will impose a new 15-cent tax on all fresh Christmas trees to support a new Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees.

This tax is a pain and is unnecessary. It will raise a total of $2 million.

"The economy is barely growing and nine percent of the American people have no jobs. Is a new tax on Christmas trees the best President Obama can do?" - David S. Addington

And, by the way, the American Christmas Tree already has a wonderful image and doesn't need to be taxed. Let us instead keep our hard earned 15 cents and spread Christmas cheer the right way - singing loud for all the hear!
