Repeal Columbus Day as a National Holiday.

Created by S.T. on October 12, 2015

Christopher Columbus brought terrible things upon the Native Americans he met. Columbus didn't even land in the United States, so it doesn't make sense for the United States to celebrate his landing. He also enslaved and killed hundreds of Native Americans and gave them terrible diseases. Also, conclusive evidence exists that proves that Columbus was not the first European to land in the Americas. It does not make sense to me, or several other citizens I have talked to, that Christopher Columbus should be revered in the United States for doing unspeakable, terrible things to the Native people of the Americas.
