Many innocent people have been ruined by defamatory and slanderous content distributed on websites via the internet, which crosses state lines into the media channels. Pornography posted under the stolen identities of innocent people has ruined their employment and employment potential. The owners of the offending websites have hidden behind the shield of the Communications Decency Act to escape liability for the deep and lasting damages to innocent people. They have no concern for monitoring their own websites because they are able to escape any liability via the CDA. It is wrong to allow this damage to continue to be done while the website owners go on making money.
