The War on Drugs has been a failure since it's inception: it has given power to violent drug cartels, resulted in the arrest of thousands of peaceful Americans, cost taxpayers billions, and done nothing to curb the availability of drugs on the black market.
The ban on many drugs has made legitimate medical research impossible, infringes on certain groups right to free worship, and keeps those who need help from seeking it out.
It is time to end this failed policy and give Americans their rights back: this country was founded on the principles of freedom and personal responsibility.
Instead of fighting the war, legalize, regulate and tax these substances, and put money that is currently being wasted towards educating our citizens about the realities of these substances: good and bad.
