As the Internet becomes more and more an essential part of everyday life, the idea of "protecting" children from it becomes archaic, and actually a hindrance to education and entertainment of children. This is why COPPA should be repealed - it's a product of a bygone era when the Internet was the "Wild West" and actually dangerous for the average person to traverse unprotected.
