Repeal the crude oil export ban.

We need the U.S. to lift the archaic oil export ban that’s been in place since the Nixon administration and the oil crisis of the early 1970s. This law banning what is the basis of American free energy trade. We import millions of barrels of foreign oil. The justification of not lifting the ban due to increased fuel prices in the U.S. only shows the lack of understanding on the situation. U.S. gasoline prices are dictated by the cost of Brent crude. By allowing U.S. oil to be exported would increase the global supply. This could in fact create decreased global crude prices resulting in lower gasoline prices. It has also been studied and research shows that removing the export ban will increase American jobs across the U.S. over the next 20 years by a substantial amount.
