Currently members of Congress become eligible for retirement annuities under CSRS and FERS at an earlier age and with fewer years of service than most other federal employees. This law should be abolished and a new law created stating that the only retirement a government official can obtain is one that is the same as all other government employee's(i.e. Military, all other civil service employees other than Congress, etc.). Serve 20 years in government service and earn a retirement. It is time to make things equal. Those members chose that care path and if they want a retirement from it they should stay in governmental civil service until retirement eligible the same as all other governmental employees. To include the President and his/her staff.
