Repeal the Dickey-Wicker Amendment to allow funding for Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research.

Created by J.G. on December 05, 2012

There are 133 million people in the United States alone suffering from chronic health conditions. Human embryonic stem cell research could potentially provide cures for these people. However, though Obama lifted restrictions put in place by the Bush Administration, there are still limitations. The Dickey-Wicker Amendment restricts federal funds from supporting research that destroys or creates embryos for research purposes. It is this amendment that prevents federal funds from being used to create new stem cell lines. We the people petition the government to repeal this amendment so that there may be hope for the 133 million people in this country suffering from disease.
