Repeal DOMA and replace with a Marriage Equality Act

Created by C.K. on December 22, 2011

Dear President Obama,

The Defense of Marriage act is hurting your citizens, it in no way protects "traditional" marriage and only serves as a means of oppressing a specific group of people. Laws should not have an effect of punishing a minority group simply for the irrational fear and perverted delight of another larger group. Laws are in fact meant to protect smaller groups from the discrimination and violence associated with the fear and hatred of a larger group.

Our constitution grants us basic rights, the right to Liberty, Justice and the Pursuit of Happiness. Without the Liberty to marry the person you love there is no way to Pursue Happiness. Without liberty and the pursuit of happiness there can be no Justice, until you do the honorable thing and Repeal this unconstitutional law.
