The electoral college was established centuries ago on the belief that a presidential candidate could manipulate the public without an overseeing college to override the "misguided" will of the people, and the belief that small populations in one state should have equal leverage with larger populations in another state. This process of electing a president interferes with the will of the people, and has robbed the majority of their voting power-especially where a presidential candidate has won the massive popular vote and still loses the election for failing to secure 270 of the electoral votes. We don't need government to decide our votes. Congress should do the will of the people by repealing the electoral college.
