In this highly technological age where the CNN's and FOX News's of this world can provide nearly real-time results of the popular vote quicker than determining the winner of each state's electoral votes, the current system is clearly outdated and should be repealed.
While it is conceded that these changes would not have changed the outcome of this most recent election, it is true that many Presidents past have been able to focus on states that have the largest amount of votes to give and practically skip over states with just a few electoral votes.
Furthermore, as a citizen of this country each vote should count the same. The current system provides a disadvantage to some citizens who may live in a state that leans significantly different in political views from that individual.
