The regulations being imposed by the EPA on required emissions equipment, and the limitations on installation of aftermarket parts has crippled the aftermarket industry needlessly.
These regulations serve no purpose whatsoever if minimal tailpipe emissions are the goal of the agency.
A regulated test (via licensed referee) is to be made available to anyone who chooses to use aftermarket parts, and/or modify their emissions equipment.
If the refereed test is passed, under idle, steady state, and load conditions for tailpipe emissions, the vehicle will be licensed for normal operations with the caveat of required re-testing at a licensed facility at regular intervals.
This will open the path to numerous innovations, job creation, manufacturing, and a revitalization of the industry.
