Repeal existing laws allowing insurance companies the ability to obtain credit report information to extend coverage.

Created by R.S. on January 01, 2013

We the people petition the government to repeal existing laws that enable automobile insurance companies from obtaining credit reports before extending coverage. Insurance companies do not loan money therefor they should not be authorized to obtain a credit report to set rates for a policy.

We ask that there be a federal law prohibiting automobile insurance companies from obtaining a credit report for use in determining insurability. We also ask that this law be inclusive to cover any current state laws which may conflict with this law.
