Poorly-crafted sex laws at all levels of government cause innocent people to be imprisoned for acts that harm no-one. The number of these innocent people ending up in prison in recent years has been growing at a great rate and will cost the nation a lot in terms of dollars and opportunity-cost.
Most people think of sex-offenders as being fairly easy game for law-enforcement, which is generally true, but that is likely to change if our government continues to mistreat it's own people, since sex-offenders are generally drawn from the pool of people just like you and me.
Innocent people treated badly by your government who could have been contributing to the betterment of society will instead eventually become enemies of the state and will likely behave in ways commensurate with that status
