We the people propose to repeal Title 23 Section 158 of the Federal-Aid Highway Act, which decreases annual federal aid apportionment by 10% to any state that has a minimum drinking age below 21.
We also advocate for the repeal of the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984. Under this act, all states became required to create legislation that would mandate the age of 21 years as a minimum age for publicly possessing and purchasing alcoholic beverages.
The minimum drinking age should be up to the states and not controlled by the Federal Government. The minimum age for possessing or purchasing alcohol should be 18. If we the people can fight and die for this country at the age of 18, then we should be able to responsibly consume and purchase alcohol at the age of 18.
