The laws concerning the recreational usage of marijuana are outdated, and, given our new understanding of the substance, idiotic.
We need to realize that the federal legalization of marijuana will eliminate the dangers of 'synthetic marijuana' almost immediately, as well as stop the arrest and imprisonment of citizens for doing nothing more than enjoying a substance that has been proven to be less damaging than alcohol on every level.
Colorado and Washington have both legalized the recreational use of marijuana at the state level, and as such are enjoying an influx of tax dollars that benefit the entire population of the state.
Why have we not done what is obviously the right thing?
